Safe on the mountain & with heart

My name is Manuela and I'm a certified mountain hiking guide, passionate photographer and founder of alongside.outdoor. The mountains of the Schladming-Dachstein region in Styria are my second home. I know the trails, the seasons and the moments that make a hike truly special.

What drives me: showing people the beauty of the mountains the way I experience them myself: safely, mindfully and with an eye for the extraordinary. Every tour is carefully planned: from route selection to weather conditions to group assessment. Because only those who feel safe can truly enjoy the mountain.

Safety isn't an add-on, it's the foundation of every tour. I continuously train, check weather and conditions before every hike and adjust routes when necessary. Your experience should be unforgettable, but never at the expense of your safety.

Photography is more than an add-on for me: it's part of how I experience the mountains. I notice light, moments and perspectives that others might miss. These are exactly the moments I capture for you, in a natural and documentary style. After the tour, you'll receive professionally edited photos that show your experience the way it felt.

Sony Alpha 6400 · Nikon D610 · Ricoh SLX5100: depending on the tour and lighting conditions, I choose the right camera to capture the atmosphere you experience in the mountains.
